About Celtic Soul Therapy

An Irish-born psychotherapist supporting the Irish & Australian community and those drawn to Celtic heritage to find healing, belonging, and a deeper connection to self.

Fáilte ó mo chroí.
Welcome from my heart

If you are needing some support in your life right now, I’d love to help.

Over the past decade, I have supported the Irish community in Australia with the many challenges that arise from being so far away from home.

  • Navigating life away from family & close friends.
  • Dealing with the guilt of living so far away.
  • Coping with anxiety, trauma that life’s transitions bring.
  • Raising a family without the support of loved ones.
  • Dealing with grief when being on the other side of the world.

As an Irish born psychotherapist, I have lived in Australia for 30 years. Having worked deeply with the Irish community and also those who feel aligned to their Celtic heritage, I bring a personal understanding of the challenges that arise.

The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious.

If you have a deep scar, that is a door.

If you have an old, old story, that is a door.

If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is a door.

If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.

My Story

About Me

As a Registered Integrative Psychotherapist (PACFA), I have supported individuals in my clinical practice  and community for many years.   Helping people with anxiety has always been important to me as this is one area which has such a profound impact on people’s lives.

I have owned my own wellness centre and served as a support  therapist with the Irish Support Agency in Sydney. Having lived in Australia for the past thirty years, I understand the deep longing for belonging that many within the Irish diaspora carry, and the healing that comes from reconnecting with one’s roots.

Alongside my clinical work, I facilitate workshops and gatherings that help people reconnect to their Celtic Heritage— exploring how ancient Irish wisdom, story, and ritual can be woven into modern life as a source of grounding, resilience, and spiritual renewal.

My own healing path has been deeply shaped by my faith in God and the living presence of Jesus in my life. This relationship has brought profound transformation and peace. The figure of Mary Magdalene also holds a special place in my work — as a teacher of love and courage.

I love to bridge the ancient Celtic ways with a living relationship to our Creator, where nature, soul, and Spirit are understood as one continuous conversation.

If this speaks to you and you are looking for support, please get in touch.

What to expect working with me

Central to all my work is a strong belief that the mind and body are not only interdependent but are inseparable therefore my approach to healing and therapy acknowledges and offers the potential to work creatively and on many different levels. This approach recognises that painful experiences are often stored in the body.

When emotions are repressed, denied or not allowed our systems to become contracted and blocked resulting in unease, anxiety, unhappiness and this can create pain.

Many of us can feel this in our physical bodies, feeling anxious, stressed, a weak immune system, depleted energy, an inability to move forward and an overwhelming sense of just not feeling right.

This imbalance often keeps us feeling stuck and has a negative impact on our relationships and our general perception of the world. I will educate you with practical tools and practices as part of your toolkit to empower you to feel supported, calm and in control as you embed the changes you are making to your life.

Some of the techniques I use with clients in practice:

Holistic Psychotherapy

My work is deeply rooted in going beyond the ‘thinking mind’. We know that crisis affect not just our mind but our heart and soul.  I use a range of different therapeutic modalities from Process Work, Informed Trauma Therapy, CBT, EFT Tapping, Attachment Theory – all which offer the ability to work with issues that arise.

Somatic Body Work

As our mind and body are connected, we can often find that our emotions have been stored in the body such as a constant shoulder pain. In a session we may use gentle movement to unfold meaning in somatic symptoms. This will support the emotions to leave your body.

Heart Centered Meditation

We may use the power of the breath to heal and restore the body, Guided meditation to connect to the heart space can can support you to reduce stored emotions.

Celtic Spiritality & Ancient Tradition

We may use journeying or work with the directions of the Celtic Wisdom Wheel to take you away from the rational confines of the mind and deeper into your heart space and soul life.
Celtic Spirituality beautifully combines the healing energy and the ancient wisdom of the Celts. My focus is on my own birth place of Ireland and the ancient Irishways.

Sound & Vibrational Medicine

The power of sound can profoundly affect us on so many different levels; from the flow of energy in our bodies, our cellular function, our brain waves and on our bioelectrical field. In a session I may diagnostically use a combination of instruments to support your mind and body.

Creative Therapy

In a session we may use drawing, painting, clay, sandplay, sand other forms of visual art expression. You don’t need to be artistically gifted to benefit from this creative therapy as we often focus on the symbolic meaning of the images, colours and the creative process.

A few things about me!

  • I love the mythical Celtic stories of ‘Tir na nÓg’, the ‘Tuatha Dé Danann’ and the wild tales of Gods and Goddess.
  • I love drumming and credit my bodhrán drum for grounding me when nothing else can.  I play the piano and compose my own music.
  • My Celtic ancestral roots run deep; my grandfather fought in the 1916 Rising and was captured and put in prison in England. He fought for liberty, for sovereignty, for his love of the land, for the stories and teachings of our culture, for our mother tongue.
  • I lived in France for a few years where worked as an interpreter for chefs at the Ritz Hotel in Paris.

Kind Words

A few kinds words from many of my happy clients.

Helen supported me during one of the most challenging and difficult periods of my life. She helped me gain the confidence and clarity to move forward and make some courageous decisions for my future. I am truly grateful for her support and would recommend her in a heartbeat!

Helen is a warm, compassionate and supportive therapists who invests wholeheartedly in working with you. I had put off going to therapy for many years having had some negative experiences in the past. I got so much out the work we did. I have come away with a very different way of relating myself and others and how I see the world. Thank you Helen.

RoseManly, Sydney

Struggling with extreme anxiety, low self-esteem and feeling continually overwhelmed, every area of my life felt impacted. Working with Helen has been such a positive experience. She will challenge you but always makes you feel heard, empowered and supported to create change.

BellaManly, Sydney

I had heard Helen speak at a conference on ‘Mental Health’ and really liked her approach. Working with my own and trauma was something I had avoided for many years. It can be hard to find someone that you can relate to. I found Helen very warm, approachable and knowledgeable.
